Women Ending Hunger Rummage Sale
Rummage sale to benefit poverty relief programs
Everyone loves a bargain … and many will be found at the Women Ending Hunger rummage sale that will take place 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, on the loading dock at Marion-Polk Food Share, 1660 Salem Industrial Drive NE.
Clothing, household goods, books, table linens, even an office machine or two will be available for prices ranging from 25 cents and up. Most items will be under $10.
The sale will benefit Women’s Work, a craft and skills cooperative designed to help people lift themselves out of poverty. It will provide funds for supplies and marketing for the rag rug and sewing guilds currently meeting and new guilds forming later this year. Proceeds also will help WEH meet its $15,000 fundraising goal to support Marion-Polk Food Share, the regional food bank that serves Marion and Polk counties.
Sale items are rolling in for sorting and pricing and more are welcome. Donations will be accepted through Sept. 21. For information or to make a donation, contact Kat Daniel at 503-581-3855, ext. 322.
