Native Plant Sale
Marion Soil and Water Conservation District's 12th Annual Native Plant Sale! Over 80 species of native trees, shrubs and flowering plants will be for sale. Plant prices range from $1.50 to $8.00 and will be sold as bare roots, small containers and gallon pots. We will also have native wildflower seed for sale in small packets for $3.00 each. Payment by cash and check only please. New this year: On Friday March 7th guest speakers will give talks on a number of different topics; Talks will be every hour from 11am until 4 pm Topics will include: Invasive plants, Oregon Flora Project/native plants, native plant propagation, worm bin composting, & beneficial insects For more information and a list of plants and prices see our website: http://www.marionswcd.net/events/district-events/ Native plants are great for all landscapes; they attract wildlife such as birds, insects, butterflies and mammals, and are usually easy to grow. Native plants are adapted to our climate and soils, and require minimal water once they are established. Profits from the Native Plant Sale fund two scholarships for students from Marion County studying Natural Resources at an Oregon College or University. The Mission of the Marion Soil and Water Conservation District is to protect, conserve and improve the quality of soil and water in Marion County through planning, technical assistance and education.
