Earth Day at the Oregon Garden

Free Earth Day Festival Features Recycled Art-Making,
Composting Demonstrations and Tree Giveaway at The Oregon Garden
 
Silverton, OR — “Earth Day, Every Day” is the theme at this year’s Earth Day Celebration at The Oregon Garden on April 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is the only day of the year that admission to The Oregon Garden is free to all.
 
The day will feature a number of earth-focused activities and presentations, including making recycled art with DIY Studios and Geercrest Farms, backyard composting, and learning safe alternatives to hazardous household products. The Oregon Forest Resources Institute will also host a free tree giveaway in the Children’s Garden, and guests are invited to enjoy The Oregon Garden’s 80-acres and 20 themed gardens.
 
As many as 20 educational exhibitors will be located in the Oregon Garden’s Grand Hall, including non-profit groups, student groups and government organizations. The celebration will also feature music from the Early College High School’s Emaa Da drumming band and the Woodburn High School Mariachi Band, as well as locally-sourced food from local vendors including pizza, crepes and gourmet pretzels.
 
Free parking and shuttles will be offered from the First Baptist Church and the gravel lot north of Roth’s Fresh Market in Silverton. On-site parking is available for $5.
