The French Prairie Kiwanis Club is sponsoring Bike for Bread, a fundraiser for AWARE Food Bank on Sept. 28.
The ride, which is held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will start and end at the Woodburn High School and there are three different rides to choose from.
The kids’ distance ride will cover one mile all on and around the high school grounds. The cost is $6.
The five mile ride, which goes to Hubbard and back, costs $15.
The 24-mile ride, which will have one rest stop, costs $25.
Suggested items to bring include suitable clothing, a CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) approved helmet — this is required for all riders — water, snack, a spare tire, a tube, a pump and tools for bicycle repair.
Pre-registration, which is done by mail, is due Sept. 6. Day-of registration is open from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and costs $30.
Proceeds will all go to AWARE Food Bank in Woodburn.
Checks can be made payable to French Prairie Kiwanis and mailed to P.O. Box 374, Woodburn, OR 97071.
