SUMMARY:"Who's on Third?" Free Music Concert
DESCRIPTION:"Who's on Third?" Welcome back to Jenny and Julie Coleman\, violin and piano!\n\n\n\nJulie studied the violin with Raphael Spiro before gaining admittance to the Juilliard School at age 17. She is a proud member of the Oregon Symphony and plays on a beautifully restored G.B. Rogeri violin made in 1667. Janet is an accomplished and versatile pianist who has performed in recitals all across the United States as well as Europe and Central America. She is also the regular accompanist for Oregon's former Miss America\, Katie Harmon.\n\nTheir program will include pieces by classical composers Bach\, Brahms and Tchaikovsky. They will also share more contemporary pieces like "Adagio for Strings" by Samuel Barber\, selections from "West Side Story" by Leonard Bernstein and the "Hoedown" movement from "Rodeo" by Aaron Copland.\nThis year marks the 10th season of our concert series\, which has grown to be a popular community event! \n\nIt's designed to provide enjoyable live entertainment to the local community. The title\, "Who's On Third?" is a play on words from the old Abbott and Costello comedy baseball routine but instead of "first" we used "third" to hopefully help folks remember that our concerts are held on the third Sunday of each month\, at 3:00 PM (September May). \n\nAll concerts are supported with a freewill offering that helps pay for concert expenses. Each concert also has a mid-concert Intermission\, with refreshments. See you there!
