DESCRIPTION:All it takes is one song to bring back one-thousand memories.\n\n\n\nA benefit fundraiser for Thelma's Place. A place where caregivers get a much needed break form care-giving for their loved one with memory loss.\n\n\n\nGuest Speaker: Dr. Larry Sherman\, PH.D.\\\n\nThe evening presentation and guest speaker is Dr. Larry Sherman\; a Professor from OHSU. The Oregon Museum of Science Industry and Portland Monthly Magazine recently named him among the "12 most innovative people in Oregon." Dr. Sherman\, who has played the piano since the age of four\, will give a multi-media lecture and musical performance. He will talk about how music can influence brain function and healthy brain aging. His presentation is called\, "Your Bain on Music" and is said to be a "musical journey of neuroscience." This lecture/performance focuses on newer studies and includes music ranging from The Beatles to Bach.
