SUMMARY:Al's Garden Center Demystifying Roses
DESCRIPTION:Roses are the backbone of many gardens and the bane of others. But the bad press they may receive is mostly based on outmoded ideas and the use of less reliable varieties. Come learn just how much fun - and easy - rose gardening can be!\n\n	Registration: Not required\n\n	Cost: FREE and open to the public\n\n	Speakers: Kimberly Brown\, OSU Extension Master Gardener and Royal Rosarian\, at Gresham\; Harry Landers\, Horticulturalist\, International Rose Test Garden\, at Sherwood and Woodburn\n\n	Founded by Al and Ann Bigej in 1948\, Al's Garden Center was originally known as Al's Fruit Stand. In 1959 Jack Bigej joined his father and began to develop what is known today as Al's Garden Center. Al's Garden Center is a third-generation family owned and operated business.\n\n	\n\n	Al's dream has grown into Al's Garden Centers in three locations: Woodburn\, Sherwood and Gresham. The Garden Centers are supplied and supported by Al's Greenhouses. Al's Greenhouses grow 90% of the soft-stemmed annuals and perennials sold at Al's Garden Centers. Currently\, Al's Garden Center is the largest full-service garden center in the Willamette Valley\, specializing in the production and sale of premium quality annual and perennial bedding plants as well as nursery stock.
