SUMMARY:Affair to Remember Benefit Gala
DESCRIPTION:The Alzheimer's Network of Oregon is a non-profit organization formed in the fall of 2003 by a group of volunteers from Marion\, Polk\, Linn and Benton Counties who shared a profound commitment to supporting individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias in those counties\, including those with the diagnosis\, their families and their professional caregivers.\n\n \n\n	Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia\, a common term for the loss of intellectual abilities that are serious enough to interfere with daily functioning. The disease is progressive and fatal. It results in decreasing skills in memory\, judgment\, decision making\, orientation to physical surroundings\, and language.\n\n	Alzheimer's disease is not a part of normal aging\, but the risk of the disorder increases with age. About 5 percent of people between the ages of 65 and 74 have Alzheimer's disease\, while nearly half the people over the age of 85 have Alzheimer's. \n\n	Please take a moment to spread the word about this event to your trusted friends and collegues. It is because of community members like you that the Alzheimer's Network is able to help so many.
