LIVESTRONG at the YMCA
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a FREE 12-week program for adult cancer survivors. It is a proven program that empowers cancer survivors to take an active role in their own health and well-being. Participants meet twice a week for 90 minutes with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength, improving flexibility and endurance, and increasing confidence and self-esteem. By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is helping people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind, and body. Classes are on Mondays and Fridays, and are offered at 1:30-3 or 5:30-7 at the Family YMCA of Marion and Polk Counties. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA classes are also offered at the Monmouth/Independence YMCA, Mondays and Fridays, from 10:30-12. Classes begin Monday, November 13th, for both locations.
